The Axiom of Mathematics

The word axiom comes from the Greek αξιωμα (axioma), whichis to be considered valuable or appropriate or deemed self-evident. This word comes from αξιοειν (axioein), which is to be considered valuable, which is then derived from αξιος (Axios),which means precious. Among the many Greek philosophers, anaxiom is a statement that can be seen the truth, without any proof. The word axiom is also understood in mathematics. However, theaxioms in mathematics does not mean that self-evidentproposition. Rather, the starting point of the system logic. For example, 1 +1 = 2. Another name of the axiom is postulate. Anaxiom is the basis of formal logic system which, together withinference rules defining logic.
